WHO I AM

GinA's interest in computers began in grade school when she started learning BASIC programming. She found the creative and challenging aspects of programming fascinating, leading her to pursue a career involving computers.

Starting in the late 80s at 19 years old, GinA first worked as a general secretary and bookkeeper but quickly grew tired of the repetitive tasks. She then explored roles in both the computer and legal fields. In 1991, she became a legal secretary and discovered her passion for law matched her love for computers due to similar challenges and unpredictability.

After building her computer skills while working as a legal secretary, GinA completed MCSE network administration training in 1999, allowing her to start a computer consulting business. She also worked as a helpdesk technician for Maine InterNetworks, which later became Time Warner/Spectrum. While briefly working as a software debugger for Candle Corporation, she realized she didn't enjoy the social isolation of the role.

As GinA continued to expand her computer skills, she taught herself website and graphic design, and eventually learning to build, troubleshoot, and manage computer server networks. Frustrated by technical issues with corporate web hosts that were beyond her control, she built her own public web and email servers with enhanced security features.

Initially using a Windows 7 platform for her servers, GinA continually faced security vulnerabilities so she taught herself how to use the Linux/Ubuntu operating system. With support from user forums and a Linux/Ubuntu technician, she successfully transitioned all of her servers to Linux/Ubuntu while creating a local network to host her websites and email accounts. GinA's Office Solutions website is now hosted on her personal network and is maintained entirely by GinA in her living room.

GinA's Office Solutions' purpose is to provide all of GinA's professional skills to individuals and small businesses who need the services she offers, from simple individual or home business bookkeeping to setting up and configuring a computer system according to your unique needs. Whatever you need for you or your small business, GinA's Office Solutions can help you find the solution.
